The diplomat globe is an amazing addition to our home. The wood stand is a beautiful piece of furniture and the detail of the globe is amazing.
I'm happy with the globe. Some others I've seen produce the "map" with individual geometric pieces glued side by side together, which can often times have mismatched seams, causing a break in a lat/long line, or a country border. This globe appears to be more like a one piece "shrink wrap" around the acrylic ball, making it seamless. Note however, that it is a smooth surface, not having raised mountain "bumps" like some, for those who might care for that type of feature.
In choosing a floor globe, I was torn between stand stylings, but the Emily model isn't too "old furniture leg," or too "metal modern" for my tastes. I also like the smaller floor footprint it provides. Additionally, it strikes me as a bit more stable than some other slender stand models, ie. against potential bumps from pets, children, etc..
I was also torn between globe styling, ie. multicolored "puzzle piece" country depictions, or the "as seen from space" physical map depiction. I went with the blue ocean style as it offers both with the lighting feature at night. It's like having two globes in one. I would echo other reviews I've seen that recommend swapping out the incandescent bulb for an LED. Better illumination, and less frequent bulb replacements. The only negative would be the visible cord. Honestly, it was my only hesitation in going with an illuminated globe. But I suppose if offered, a cordless battery powered option would bring the inconvenience of battery replacements-and possible loss of brightness. That all said, the illumination in the evenings is very cool.
Lastly, shout out to Sean at Ultimate Globes for a quick and painless replacement of a broken and damaged light socket and bulb, along with some resultant minor damage to the globe itself, which occurred during shipping. My recommendation to the manufacturer to avoid this apparently common issue would be to package those items separately from the globe, vice loosely installed within the globe.
I was so impressed with the Utimate experience i overlooked commenting on the product. The Ultimate globes exceeded my expectation. They are beautful and practical. I look forward buying more and gifting them to family and friends.
The globe is flawless as far as the lines around the countries, color, text, and everything lining up correctly. Very well made and the arm is made of metal. Color is a soft blue. I’m very happy with this. Quality is phenomenal.
A excellent teaching tool for children to learn the 50 States love this one a must want item!

The globe is a wonderful addition to our family room. It’s attractive and looks like it belongs there. Very attractive and easy to attach the legs. The globe is large enough to read the names of places.

At 84, I do my best to purchase only those items which will have value for my family as well as myself. I think it is important for every family to have an up to date globe to help children visualize what our planet looks like and where various countries are in relation to where they live.
Thought I was crazy for spending this much on a globe but I got a wild hair and clicked buy. Grandsons (6 and 8) have been using it like crazy, and it doesn’t really count as “electronics” because it’s more like fun school. Also, there was a problem with the pen when we received it, and the company immediately sent a replacement pen that arrived within two days. So stellar customer service. Very much appreciated.
Problem with a defect was immediately resolved. Best customer service for any internet product I've ever purchased. The globe is fantastic with intricate detail and great usability. Outstanding!
This was the 3rd globe I ordered recently, the only one from Ultimate Globes.
The first one I ordered from Replogle through Amazon. The picture description showed “Gulf of Mexico”, which I wanted. When it arrived it said “Gulf of America “. Back it went. The second globe I ordered was only useful as a decorative piece, the labels were blurred. Back it went.
On the Ultimate Globes website I saw a globe I liked. It said “ Gulf of Mexico”, but I’ve been burned before, so I double checked with customer service. Rich got back to me right away and confirmed “Gulf of Mexico “. Awesome, but I wanted to reserve judgement until it arrived.
It arrived and it was exactly as described! Thank you Ultimate Globes for my new globe!
I really like the size and quality of the globe and the base. Mine arrived broken, though. Perhaps FedEx was not gentle. The globe had become detached from the arms, the pins that fasten the globe to the arms had broken, and there was a small tear in the south pacific because of that, I suspect. I was able to assemble it fine - but if it were for classroom use, I'd probably want to get the locking nuts replaced.
Though I've taken off points for the shipping, I would still buy this globe again. the 16" size is a major step up from the typical 12". Also, it still says "Gulf of Mexico", which is a plus.
My husband loves this new, current lighted globe. He can find all of the countries that he hears about in the news and from other sources.
Bought globe to help plan travels, and have something tangible to use.
Selection was wonderful, and selected the right color, for me.
